Florida City was incorporated in 1914 and had 13,085 people at the 2020 Census. It is the southernmost municipality in the South Florida metropolitan area, which is why its motto calls it the gateway to the Keys and the Everglades.
Everyone driving to Key Largo and everyone driving into Everglades National Park passes through it, so the city carries a lot of traffic for its size. It is a working agricultural town with houses to match, and there is new construction on the north side of it where it runs into Homestead.
A house here is further from Miami than anything else on this list. If one of you commutes north every day, drive it once at the hour you would actually be driving it before you decide.
What people ask about Florida City
How far is Florida City from Key Largo?
It is the mainland city you pass through on the way down, so Key Largo is the next stop south on U.S. 1.

Yes, mostly on the north side where the city runs into Homestead. Ask me what has been released, because it changes every few months.
